The Westerly Education Center, a satellite campus for Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education, received a $3,000 grant from the Dime Bank Foundation to help support the creation of a 200-hour job skills workforce training program. The program will provide much needed workforce development skills catering to businesses that look to employ local residents in Southeastern New England. This gift was part of the over $200,000 given to local charities and other need-based organizations by the Dime Bank Foundation over the past year. Founded in 2017, the newly opened Westerly Education Center is a public/private collaboration designed to bring together higher education, business, industry, and community partners to provide high-quality educational programs to meet projected workforce growth in the region.
