Dime Bank, whose main office is located at 290 Salem Turnpike, Norwich, CT, announced that it has filed an application with the CT Department of Banking and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for consent to establish a new branch at 135 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066. The new branch would be Dime's 14th, with 13 locations throughout Connecticut and 1 in Westerly, Rhode Island. 

Currently, there are no community banks operating in Vernon and Dime's entrance into the area means community banking will again be an option for local customers. The bank's decision to expand into Vernon comes on the heels of Dime opening new branches in Manchester and Glastonbury in December, 2020.

The Dime Bank branch in Vernon, pending regulatory approval, is expected to open later this fall.
