Dime Bank Foundation Bestows $3,000 Gift To Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality

Dime Bank Foundation recently awarded $3,000 to the Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality (MASH) in support of their Homeless Prevention/Diversion Program.

Norwich, CT Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Dime Bank Foundation recently awarded $3,000 to the Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality (MASH) in support of their Homeless Prevention/Diversion Program. Prevention through shelter diversion is a cost-effective approach to prevent the homelessness of local families. By providing modest, short-term financial assistance and case management, MASH can help keep families in their current housing and out of the shelter system.

MASH was formed in 1998 to address the needs of Southeastern Connecticut’s homeless and imminently homeless families, providing emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, and shelter diversion services in New London County. They are one of only three service providers in Southeastern CT dedicated to serving homeless and at-risk families with children. They work closely with state and town services and other non-profit service providers to help address additional family needs.
