Dime Bank Welcomes New Corporators at 152nd  Annual Meeting

Norwich, CT Tuesday, April 13, 2021

Dime Bank recently hosted its 152nd Annual Meeting virtually  from its corporate office at 290 Salem Turnpike in Norwich. In his annual State of the Bank presentation to Dime’s corporators, President and CEO Nick Caplanson highlighted a number of topics from the past year, including Dime’s business adaptations during the pandemic, the extension of the bank’s retail footprint into Greater Hartford and another year of strong financial performance.

“The past year was certainly unlike any other but we were fortunate to remain open every day and continue to serve our customers who were facing their own challenges during the pandemic,” said Nick Caplanson, President and CEO. “In fact, the restrictions we were forced to work under at times allowed us to find new and innovative ways to provide a more diverse menu of banking services and we are a better and stronger bank today for having had that experience.”

Despite the difficulties incurred during the last year, Dime was able to grow the bank’s footprint into greater Hartford with the opening of two new branches, one each in Glastonbury and Manchester. Both branches are performing well, highlighting the need for real community banking in that area of the State.

At the meeting, five new Corporators were elected to the bank, including Dr. Michael Capalbo D.M.D, President of Plum Dental Group, Muhammed Malloy, Senior Tax Associate at Cohn Reznick of Hartford, Thomas N. McAvoy, retired Senior Vice President of Trust and Investment Services at Dime Bank, Andrew D. Sawyer, Portfolio Manager and Co-Owner of Thames Financial Management in Norwich, and Dr. John Turick D.M.D, owner of Turick Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Groton.
