Norwich, CT — Wednesday, October 1, 2025 — Dime Bank has announced that as part of a succession plan shared earlier this year, Nicholas J. Statoulas, of Glastonbury, CT, has assumed the role of President of Dime, effective today, October 1. Most recently, he served as Dime’s Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Statoulas has spent nearly 30 years in community banking, previously working at Rockville Bank and United Bank before joining Dime in 2018. Prior to being named Chief Operating Officer, he used his consumer banking expertise in the areas of developing innovative products and services and exceptional team-based customer service to help build Dime’s retail network, including the bank’s expansion into greater Hartford.   

Mr. Statoulas replaces Nick Caplanson, who announced his plans to retire as Dime’s President, effective October 1, 2025 and Chief Executive Officer, effective December 31, 2025; upon his departure at the end of the year, the CEO role will also be absorbed by Mr. Statoulas.

Mr. Caplanson will retain his role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026.
