Dime Bank Helps Those In Need Dress For Success
News Release - February 10, 2010
Norwich, CT - A $5,000 award from the Dime Bank Foundation will
support Westerly Area Rest Meals' (W.A.R.M.) on-going Attire for Hire
program. Attire for Hire provides gently worn clothing at no cost to homeless,
unemployed and underemployed adults looking for something appropriate
to wear for job interviews. Attire is conveniently located for clients
- adjacent to W.A.R.M.'s Shelter and the Community Soup Kitchen.
"Dime's award will help us continue to give clients personalized
attention in choosing attire we hope will assist them in securing gainful
employment; one step closer to self-sufficiency," said Jean Barry,
Executive Director at W.A.R.M.
The mission of the Westerly Area Rest Meals, established in 1987, is to
provide a continuum of care and service to the homeless and needy providing
safe, affordable housing and assuring supportive services; helping the
homeless and the needy build self-esteem and move toward independent living.
