Dime Bank Presents a $3,000 Grant to the Interdistrict School for Arts and Communication

News Release - December 30, 2008

(Norwich, CT) - Dime Bank Foundation recently presented a $3,000 grant to New London's Interdistrict School for Arts and Communications (ISAAC). ISAAC is a free, public middle school option for students in southeastern Connecticut. It is a state charter school with sixth, seventh and eighth students from the 12-town area.

"Dime is a continued supporter of ISAAC, and I've always been impressed with their genuine interest in our programs," said Migdalia Salas, capital campaign and annual funds manager, and mother of an ISAAC student. "As a charter school, we don't get the same amount of funding as public schools, so we rely on the generosity of local businesses and organizations. Dime really believes in our kids and our curriculum."

With Dime Foundation's grant, ISAAC will help ensure its students' academic success in mathematics. With the funds, the school will purchase classroom materials and acquire computer software. These new tools will address students' needs in an individualized manner. ISAAC carefully researched various software programs and technology to meet the needs of its student body.

ISAAC is populated with students from East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Preston, Salem, Stonington and Waterford.
