Dime Foundation Awards $46K+ to Area Non-Profit Organizations
in Need
News Release - June 11, 2009
Norwich, CT - Dime Foundation awarded $46,678 to 14 local organizations
as part of its commitment to community. Dime Foundation proudly supports
non-profit groups within its service area of southeastern Connecticut
and southwestern Rhode Island.
"Dime Foundation was established in part to provide support to our
non-profit neighbors," shared Jim Cronin, Dime Foundation president.
"We recognize the important role these organizations serve within
our community and, during these very difficult economic times, are most
willing to provide desperately needed financial support to assist them
in meeting the most basic needs of our neighbors and their clients."
Dime Bank, along with the Foundation and its employees, has fostered philanthropic
action and social responsibility within the communities they serve. The
Dime Bank Blue Crew can often be found volunteering for, or participating
in non-profit events. Bank employees also recognize "Blue Jeans Fridays"
to raise money that benefits charitable causes.
