Dime Bank Foundation Awards Over $40,000 In Grants
News Release - January 8, 2008
In the most recent distribution of grants, the Dime Bank Foundation awarded
$40,906 to thirteen local community service organizations. The organizations
funded include: City of Norwich/Community Care Team, New London Homeless
Hospitality Center, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, Thames River Family
Program, Salvation Army-Super Pantry, Martin House, United Community and
Family Services, Boys to Men, Eastern CT Ballet, New London Youth Affairs,
ArtReach, Flock Theater and Tower Street Elementary School - Family Engagement
Committee. With these awards, the Foundation has distributed over $165,000
in 2007 and over $815,000 since its inception.
In 1998, Dime Bank established The Dime Foundation; enabling the bank
to support and give back to the communities it serves, providing funding
for charitable, cultural, literary, scientific and educational non-profit
organizations throughout southeastern Connecticut and Westerly, Rhode
Island. The Dime Bank Foundation accepts grant applications on a year-round
