Fraudulent Correspondence Alert
Fraudulent correspondence claiming to be from the FDIC continues to be mailed, faxed and e-mailed in the United States and other countries. The correspondence uses various techniques to gain the trust of recipients in hopes they will provide sensitive personal information, including bank account numbers, that can be used to steal money and other assets. Recipients should NOT, under any circumstances, respond to the fraudulent requests. Click here for more information.

Consumer Alert
The FDIC has issued a Consumer Alert regarding emails that appear to be sent from the FDIC to consumers that direct them to visit a fake FDIC web site. Click here for more information.

FDIC Insurance
FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per Depositor through December 31, 2013.

Dime Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

An email entitled “Unauthorized ACH Transaction", appearing to originate from the Electronic Payments Association (reports@nacha.org), can infect your PC with a virus and/or other malware.
